Architectural wonders by boat, bike, and from a bird’s-eye view
Architecture is more than art. It’s more than buildings. Architecture is the art, technique, and business of designing and making buildings. From our view, the green business of building.
Throughout 2023, Copenhagen is celebrated as the UNESCO World Capital of Architecture. In the coming summer months, as part of the UIA World Congress, numerous side events and tours will be held in the Danish capital under the congress theme “sustainable futures – leave no one behind”.
As the congress welcomes more than 10,000 architects and professionals from the building and planning communities, Copenhagen will be dotted with events and pavilions showcasing architecture’s potential in shaping better societies and contributing to a more energy-efficient, climate-adapted, and liveable future.
By the same token, State of Green will also shed light on how to create a more sustainable built environment. Through the lens of environmentally conscious architecture, energy-efficient housing, retrofitting, green mobility, and urban spaces that stand out in terms of environmental sustainability, we invite participants to explore some of Copenhagen’s architectural wonders by bike, by boat, and from a bird’s-eye view.
Aiming to stimulate collaboration across borders in the joint pursuit to develop attractive urban environments while respecting the planetary boundaries, State of Green and close partners are organising a range of activities providing first-hand insights from Danish green pioneers in the built environment.
Below an overview of these side events held during the UIA World Congress week from 2-6 July. For further information, you may get in touch with State of Green’s Ulrik Søndergaard.
